Steve Nash Allegedly Doesn't Want To Pay Child Support To Ex

Steve Nash, Canadian-born basketball hero and soccer aficionado, doesn't want to pay child support to his ex-wife and mother of his three kids.

A judge ruled in 2010 that Nash didn't need to pay child support but his ex-wife is lobbying for a share in his large salary anyways. According to reports, Alejandra Nash has an income of 30-thousand a month, plus the 5-million that she received in the divorce. Steve says that he doesn't want to give her more money because he is concerned that she will spoil the kids with over-the-top luxuries.

The athlete already pays for many of the kids' expenses. He pays 90% of their school fees, extra-curriculars and medical fees, as well as 80% of the nanny's salary. According to this video, Alejandra signed a pre-nup where she waived her rights to child support and alimony.

Michigan Mom Wants "Pornographic" Anne Frank Pulled

Anne Frank's memoir holds up today because, even though she was in a surreal situation, she is a relateable teen girl. Anne's amazing diary has transported teens to that Secret Annex where she was cloistered with Peter's family, and of course, to her tragic end at the hands of the Nazis.

Her writing is so fresh and clear that she becomes your friend, your sister, your cousin. She learns to adapt to her harrowing experiences by being a teen girl -- embarrassments, outbursts, crushes and all.

But a mom in Michigan feels that Anne may have been a little too real, and says that a passage in the newest edition, The Diary of A Young Girl: The Definitive Guide is too "pornographic" for her daughter.

Victoria Beckham Feels the Mom Guilt

If there is a mother in the world who doesn't feel guilty, I would like to know her secret. If you ask enough questions to any mother -- no matter how old her kids are -- you will find the nugget of guilt somewhere.

The media, of course, doesn't help. We are supposed to feel guilty about helicoptering, and ignoring; disciplining too much, and not disciplining enough; the list goes on. But most of all, we are supposed to feel guilty about the time we spend away from our children.

And we do.

Even Victoria Beckham, "Posh" to us children of the '90s, admitted recently that she feels guilty being a working mom.

Bad Mom Files: I Don't Think Kids Should Be Forced To Share

Share and share alike. It is one of the tenets of childhood. And yet, forced sharing is coming into question by some preschools and parents of little kids.

There are preschools in the US that have written down 'no sharing' policies. They do not force kids to share their toys, instead they have multiples of popular items, or they tell kids that they have to wait their turn. They say that forced sharing creates a feeling of entitlement in the kid who wants -- and gets -- the toy.

President Obama Uses 'Shame Slingshot' to Avoid Tattoos

I happen to think that there are a lot of reasons to love President Obama and his family. It's not just his politics - there seems to be something really authentic about the way he is around his wife and daughters. If it is a sell job, I am buying.

Recently in a fairly ridiculous interview with Savannah Guthrie on the Today Show, he said that the way he and Michelle are dissuading the girls from getting tattoos is by threatening them:

“What we’ve said to the girls is, ‘If you guys ever decided you’re going to get a tattoo, then mommy and me will get the exact same tattoo in the same place. And we’ll go on YouTube and show it off as a family tattoo,” Obama said. “And our thinking is that might dissuade them from thinking that somehow that’s a good way to rebel.”

Light Drinking During Pregnancy Is Okay

A study out of Britain is claiming that light drinking during pregnancy does not harm the baby. Up to two alcoholic "units" did not harm the fetus and had no affect on the behaviour of the children, says the study.

Why I Care About Kim Kardashian's Pregnancy Weight

Okay I can't stand it any longer. I have to address the Kim Kardashian fat-shaming pregnancy issue.

KimkardashianpregnantI have stayed out of the fray on this because I think that everything KimmyK does is to get publicity and more money -- including getting pregnant.

But since announcing little North West, Kim has been wearing tight and oddly-shaped outfits that don't do her lovely body justice. And the tabloids have been judging her heavily for it. We loved her curves before, but only within reason it seems.

In some ways, her body is the product that she sells and she knows that every bizarre get-up she puts on will be commented on, so I do think she is not oblivious to the silhouettes she has chosen to go out in. (And I do find a leather minidress a bizarre pregnancy outfit - no breathability.)

She has been criticized and fat-shamed for months about her clothing choices as well as her expanding body. The tabloid and psuedo-tabloids have been selling magazines off of her body for years and now it is has ramped up with headlines like: "I Can't Stop Eating" and "Pregnant Kim's Nightmare". And then there was this

Kate Middleton Plans To Move Home With Mum After Having Baby

News is that Kate Middleton (side note: why do we all still call her by her maiden name? You would think a woman in the throes of an extremely traditional family would be referred to by her married  name) has plans to move home to her parents after having the royal heir.

The Duchess of Cambridge is (gasp!) allegedly dispensing with the services of a maternity nurse and choosing to have her mum help her out with for the first 6 weeks.

According the Daily Mail: "Kate says she ‘just feels safest and most secure’ with her family and believes that no one could be better placed to teach her about bringing up a baby than her mother, who has three children of her own."

To complicate matters, Kate and Will's apartment at Kensington Palace won't be ready for a few months because they've found asbestos in the walls. So the new family has to choose whether to stay in their temporary home, or to move in with Carol Middleton.

STFU Parents: Do Parents Overshare That Much?

We've all done it.

Told a little too much about our kids online. Not just me as a blogger, but anyone who is on Facebook or Twitter. There is a very fine line between providing information, broadcasting great moments and oversharing. So, I have a little empathy for the updates that cross the line, once in a while.

But sometimes there is something so egregious, so ridiculous, that I stare at my screen in disbelief. There are the braggers and the sanctimommies, the oversharers -- they are the parents who believe that the world revolves around them and their children's small achievements.

STFU Parents is for them (yes, stands for Shut the F*ck Up). Or at least it is to make fun of them. And in doing so it also reveals a little bit of ourselves.

Blair Koenig is a childless writer who has been keeping up the blog for four years. She gets over one and half million views per month and has just released a book, STFU Parents: the jaw-dropping, self-indulgent, and occasionally rage-inducing world of parent overshare.

Guest Post: I Went Back To Work After Having a Baby And It Is Good For Everyone

Emma Willer has three boys, a dog, husband and a full-time job. She recently returned to her government job after her one-year maternity leave. Emma writes the honest and lovely blog: Where There's A Willer...or five. Never sentimental, Emma admits that there is no perfect answer to the universal question: "Can women have it all?" I asked her for her tips on returning back to work after maternity leave.

Guest Post: Tips For Moms Returning To Work

It’s been six months since I returned to my full-time job after my third maternity leave and I now have enough space to reflect back on how that transition went. A colleague is about to leave for her first year off, so it’s been on my brain as well. What a misnomer, actually – a year off!

It’s, actually, rather, a leave from employment, with it’s own brand of heavy responsibility. And often it’s less than a year, as both employers and employees strive to find the right balance between parenting and financial and/or workload needs.

But anyway. I came back after a year off, and survived. And so can you. Here’s what I’ve learned:
